You know how your phone, recognizes a face. Well, the Sony XR Cognitive Processor has actual images... pristine near perfect images from Sony broadcast and Sony film origination cameras stored in it memory. The XR processor takes incoming video, and runs through the data base of these images, twice, and object by object matches the object to the near perfect object in its memory and then corrects the object in an A-B comparison to improve resolution, contrast, color etc. It does it in manner similar to how our brain sees, and focuses on what our brain would focus on to significantly improve the picture... object by object.
Other processors use a standard algorithm to improve "scene by scene," which means frame by frame to try to improve the picture.

There are two types of TV today: the LED and OLED. Both technogies were introduced by Sony. In 2004, Sony used LEDs instead of fluorescent bulbs as a back light in LCD TVs. In 2007, Sony introduced the OLED... Organic Light Emitting Diode technology with self illuminating pixels to create a TV picture. No other company prouduced an OLED TV till 2015.
