It was 50 years ago... when Sgt Pepper taught the band to play. No, the song said twenty. It was 50 years ago, on June 1, 1967, when Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band was released. In honor of the 50th anniversary, Pro-Ject has teamed with Apple Records to release this Limited Edition of the Essential III turntable. Pro-Ject Audio Systems is an Austrian manufacturer of high quality turntables and hi-fi components. These turntables are not made in China. In fact, Pro-Ject makes almost every single part down to the screws. The new Essential III is an affordable, precision turntable. It has a belt drive system, so vibrations from the motor are ironed out through the belt from reaching the platter. Otherwise, the needle would pick up these vibrations and amplify them and these motor noises are called rumble. The drive pulley is diamond cut. The motor is DC powered to insure speed stability. An 8.6 inch aluminum tonearm uses sapphire bearings to insure low friction tracking for the best sound quality. Special decoupling feet, very important to avoid acoustic feedback, work amazingly well for such an affordable turntable. The Sgt. Pepper's Limited Edition model upgrades the platter to a heavy acrylic semi transparent design, that lets you see the Sgt Pepper's drum. But, more important, improves rotational speed stability. Additionally, high quality audio interconnects are included. An Ortofon OM10 stereo moving magnet cartridge comes pre-installed. Regular price $499.

Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band. 50th Anniversary Remastered
Fifty years ago, John, Paul, George and Ringo experimented with the first 4 track tape recording machines. They tied two machines together, they did overtakes and re-dubs and created one of the most unique albums of all time.
When it came time to do the final mix for stereo, they were sinply out of tracks. Since, stereo was so new, and a fad, they did a lackluster mix for the stereo album. Now, 50 years later, it has been remixed you all the takes and tracks to make a modern stereo mix. Available on viny, CD, and 5 CD set.
